A Cautionary Tale
General By Al - September 27th, 2005I know this is a bit short notice, but… I might be road legal in less than 24 hours. Hey – at least I’ve given you all warning! Tomorrow I have my driving test at 3:27pm (yeah, they’re that specific).
I’ve been looking at insurance quotes. Cheapest I can get is £731.85. Turns out that Tesco opted out and won’t insure me. I guess I must have gotten a permanent record after working there. Maybe they refuse to insure clumsy employees. I was talking with a new girl that’s started working at the school recently for the first time today. She’s employed through a recruitment agency. We were talking about agency work and I went into detail about how I got fired after less than a week for falling asleep on a conveyor belt. At which point I figured it would be best to introduce myself before I got labelled as “Some random guy who shouldn’t be allowed near heavy machinery”.
Anyways, I need an early night so that I don’t fall asleep at the wheel and drive over some old lady. Or a young lady. Or a puppy. Awww, the poor puppies.
[Time passes]
It is at this point that I must mention that I wrote the previous bit around 11pm. It is now 1:40am and I’ve only just woken up after falling asleep at my desk. Fortunately, the puppies are all okay. I’m off to get ice-cream before I go back to bed…
