Some of you may have noticed that the gravatars in the comments areas haven’t been working. I’ve managed to fix the problem and I’ve also changed the default guest gravatar image.

1. What is a gravatar?
   A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an 80×80 pixel avatar image that follows you from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you comment on gravatar enabled sites. Avatars help identify your posts on web forums, so why not on weblogs?
2. How do I get a gravatar?
   Signing up for a gravatar.com account is FREE, and all that’s required is your email address. Once you’ve signed up you can upload your avatar image and soon after you’ll start seeing it on this site, aswell as other gravatar enabled weblogs! It’s that simple. To sign up, either click on any gravatar in a post’s comments section on this site, or visit http://www.gravatar.com/signup.php.
3. I’ve signed up. Why does it not work?
   This is because of a rating system. All gravatars work on an MPAA style rating (i.e. like ratings you get for movies). Firstly you have to wait for your gravatar to get rated, which is usually done in less than 24 hours. If it has been rated and still doesn’t show, then that will be because this site will only accept gravatars with a PG rating or lower. So basically if your rating is too high, then drop the drugs and hide the nipples and your gravatar should be allowed on here.
4. So you’re in charge of gravatars?
   Hehe, no. Gravatars are made and run over at Gravatar.com. I simply set the rating that I want on this site. This site has a PG rating. Don’t like it? Deal with it.
5. Where do I find the milk?
   Isle 12, 3rd shelf down on your left.
6. Can I go now?
   Sure. But don’t forget to pick up a Gravatar on your way out…
