Podcast & Go

By Al

The title of this post might be a bit misleading. You may, at first, think that this is to do with listening to the podcast, and then going. Or perhaps, it might be to do with Dave and I making a podcast, and then leaving, or moving on to do something else, therefore explaining the simplicity of the whole process.

In both cases, you would be wrong.

This is about my mac mini, Steve.

Before he went for repair once his SuperDrive broke, he was able to get a strong signal to NURV (my router) and can stay connected to the network (and therefore the internet) for as long as he wants. When I first got him I transferred about 15gb of data from my pc (Woz) with no problems.

However, since he’s been back he’s had a very weak signal and keeps dropping the connection repeatedly. I’ve phoned up “the hospital” today and they’ve said that something might be loose, which is exactly what I thought (although the exact words in my mind were along the lines of “they’ve knocked something loose”).

Fortunately, it’s all still covered by the warranty so that should be grand. Tonight I shall use Steve to finally get the podcast uploaded as planned, and then first thing tomorrow morning Steve’s going back. Hopefully I should have him back before Thursday so that podcasts can continue as normal, but I’ll keep you informed as this might mean a delay for the second podcast.

Poor Steve. Again.
