Clark Returns

Smallville’s Fifth Season is now available on DVD from both Amazon.co.uk and Play.com – unfortunately for those of you in America you’ll have to wait till September 12th before it comes out on Region 1.
The other awesome thing is that on September 28th, Season 6 airs in the US on The CW. It’s going to be an amazing season with Aquaman star Justin Hartley playing The Green Arrow in a recurring role. Some of you will no-doubt be aware that the Aquaman series was cancelled after the pilot, which went on to receive loads of praise after being made available on the iTunes Music Store. Following this success, creator Alfred Gough (co-creator of Smallville) said “If some network wanted the show, we’d find a way to work it out.” If that happens, it will go on to be known as ‘Mercy Reef’. My guess is that this is to go along similar lines as Smallville, using the name of the place of the young hero before he’s actually become the man that will be Aquaman.
Unfortunately The CW have said that they have no plans to pick up the series. Well, just as long as they keep doing Smallville, that’s fine by me… However according to the Los Angeles Times, there’s talk that the Aquaman character may be turned into a new Hollywood film, following the success of other comic book hero movies.
Also starring in the new season of Smallville is Aaron Ashmore, the twin brother of Shawn Ashmore (who’s most famous for his role as ‘Iceman’ in the X-Men movies). Aaron will be taking the role of Jimmy Olsen (who according to Chloe, was the one who took her virginity on a placement at the Daily Planet back when she was in High School).
Aaron and Shawn were both spotted by a Talent Agent when they were younger and like most twins in that position, went on to do commercials – sometimes together and sometimes on their own. When they were 12, Aaron got an offer to be in a commercial, but he fell ill on that day, and Shawn went in his brother’s place. Ever since then, Shawn’s career has always been 1 step in front of his brother’s. How much must that suck? They’ve become very different in acting styles since then and get offered very different roles and neither seem to be doing too badly. They both live together in an apartment in Toronto, so I guess that Aaron’s not that bitter about his brother’s success, hehe.
One of the great things about Aaron though is that he’s actually the closest looking actor to the original comic book portrayal of Jimmy Olsen. Another bizarre yet interesting co-incidence is that he’s really good friends with Sam Huntington who plays Jimmy Olsen in the latest Superman movie; Superman Returns. In a recent interview, Aaron was saying about how shocked they both were to have both received the same role, but one playing the movie version and the other playing a younger version of the same character on TV.
Dave and I can’t wait for Season 6 (even though we have to)
but it’ll be worth the wait if the trailer’s anything to go by. Don’t believe us? See for yourself;

I wouldn’t mind, but smallville makes no sense whatsoever, its like me re-writing the bible, telling you that noah didnt build an ark, it was the angel gabriel, coz he could carry more in flight, and he used his lazer sight to forge the metal bindings of the so-called ‘wooden’ ship.
poppy cock!
hahahaha sweet, I’m moaning.
