The American
Dave

Location: Congleton, UK

Dave is the original co-host of The Choad Show.
On Leave

Since his appearance in Season 1, he has risen up the ranks from being a telephone monkey slave to a prominent position within a company that converts food waste into recyclable water.

He also found himself a girl with a sense of humour as twisted as his own – and has finally decided to settle down with her.

Now that he’s out saving the world by providing environmental solutions, we’ve allowed him to take a break and sit out of the re-launch of The Choad. This is so that he can focus on his new career, buying a new house and getting married to his wonderful fiancée.

In the meantime we wish him all the best and look forward to his return (hopefully) at the end of 2012.

Dave was born in the US to British parents, which grants him the ultimate power of dual-citizenship.

He spent the majority of the first half of his life in Poughkeepsie in upstate New York. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Poughkeepsie, it’s the place where Ross intended to go to break up with his girlfriend in Friends, only to fall asleep and end up in Montreal instead… with a girl from Nova Scotia.

But prior to life in the fresh air of the East Coast, a war was brewing – a battle of immensely epic proportions.

A zygote had formed and was unable to contain the vast amounts of awesomeness contained within. The zygote started to tear apart from the sheer energy being formed and suddenly it split. Two identical embryos were formed; that of Dave, and his twin brother Chris.

As they formed, they developed a telepathic link. They played many games during the first 9 months of their existence, growing more and more competitive by the day. After many language-less conversations, Chris grew tired of Dave’s winning streak and wanted out.

They fought each other for hours, kicking at each other. Chris then found a way out of their tiny universe and Dave tried his best to be the victor – the first to escape. However, it was never meant to be.

Chris was born first, claiming the title of “The Elder”. Dave shortly followed thereafter to begin his life in the open world.

At the age of 15, the twins and their older sister Kate migrated (along with their mother and father) across the giant ocean to their parents homeland of England.

A year later, Al moved in next door. The following decade would be filled with many trials and tribulations, most of which would be the result of practical jokes played on the hapless twins by him.

As time progressed, Dave felt a need to hold on to his American heritage. Chris on the other hand renounced the American side of himself and became an Englishman, with the accent to boot.

Dave went to Sheffield to study at the University there. He got a job working at a video store, and it wasn’t until he met Marc years later during the season 1 finale of The Choad Show that he discovered that Marc had also applied for the same job – and lost out to him.

Dave finally escaped from Sheffield and returned to Congleton. In a very moving turn of events, the twins were re-united once again. They moved in together at a house that looked a bit like a castle and to their amusement had the number “69″.

When Al later moved to London, Dave and Chris were visited numerous times by him during the course of the next three years – often without warning or notice. Al found this to be a large source of personal amusement for himself, engaging in pranks to make Dave feel like he was going crazy. This also led to the “missing” XBox 360 that Dave and Chris had bought for each other for Christmas one year which had instead been replaced with a facsimile crafted from broken hard drives and optical drives that were all duct-taped together.

Chris has since moved out to start a family and Dave’s fiancée has moved in with him to The Castle of Number 69.

Each night they go to bed, say their prayers, and thank God that Al is miles and miles away in London and not stood outside the house, preparing his next, greatest prank yet.

Or is he…?
